TORQ in your Sleep: last chance to enter, event timetable, Children's Races, GoreBikeWear offers

We're just under a fortnight away from the August Bank Holiday weekend and the Gorrick 12:12 Torq in your Sleep 12 hour Enduro, based at Minley Manor, Hants GU17 9UF. There is still time to get your entry in but do it by Friday 17th, as there is NO ENTRY ON THE DAY. You can ride as a Solo, as part of a Pair or a Team of 3 or 4. If you do, this is what you can expect:

Saturday 25th August

  • The venue, including the Arena and Marquee area, is open from noon so you can secure your free camping spot and locate the toilets and showers.
  • The 8 mile (approx), weatherproof figure of 8 course is open from noon until 7pm for you to practise. The course has changed this year.
  • On the day Registration opens at 3pm for the Children's races only which start at 4pm.
  • The children's races run from 4 to 5pm in the Arena.
  • Registration reopens from 6 to 7pm for the collection of your Rider pack and Team confirmations. Look out for 'in pack' spot prizes as well as goodies.
  • Quaver catering is on site at the Marquee and open.
  • Final setting up will take place before the quiet time from 11.30pm.

Sunday 26th August

  • Quaver catering will be up early serving breakfast baps etc.
  • The course is open for you to practise from 8 – 10am.
  • All the trade stands will be open.
  • Registration reopens from 8 to 10.45am for the collection of your Rider pack and Team confirmations. Look out for 'in pack' spot prizes as well as goodies.
  • Get ready, chat and check out the Trade stands.
  • The compulsory rider briefing is at 11am in the Marquee.
  • Riders assemble on the start line ready for RACE START at 12 noon. This will be a controlled pace start loop behind the quad bike.
  • Lights must be fitted to all bikes starting a lap after 7pm and must be switched on by 8pm.

What else is going on

  • RIDE!!! Handover to your team mates relay style in the transition area, whilst the solos just keep on riding.
  • Listen out for the DJ at the Bridge to Nowhere.
  • A massive firework will announce midnight and the course closing.
  • Get back, wind down, check out the Timings screen in the marquee, enjoy the DJ and eat the chocolates.
  • Enjoy the complimentary Longdog Brewery beer or lager, wine etc.
  • Be at the killer prize draw, or you may miss out on a spot prize.
  • Cheer on those who win trophies and prizes at the podium presentation soon after the last rider finishes, approx 1-1.30am.
  • 2am – 8.30am is then quiet time.

Monday 27th August

  • Quaver catering will be up early serving breakfast baps etc.
  • Pack up and the venue closes at 2pm.
