Exodus Spring Series finale preview

by Paul Howard, 19 May 06.

Gorrick's Exodus Spring Series comes to a close this Sunday with everything to play for in the final round at Porridgepot Hill, Deepcut. This venue was voted favourite in last years Spring Series and it will be unique with trackside parking forming a centre arena for spectators, which will enhance the already superb racing atmosphere as the course loops past many times. The start is promised to be a real fast affair with some lumpy descents followed by short steep up hills leading out to the Fenceline Descent, Old Windmill Hill and the Porridgepot Hill switchbacks. The Devil's Pound and the Sole Destroyer (yes that spelling is intentional) will eventually return you to the top for some more fun singletrack before a final fast plunge back into the valley and a stiff climb to finish. Some of you may be either pleased or disappointed to hear we're missing out the Concrete Hill.

Here's a representation of the terrain using TrackLogs 3D Mapping tools. All the race venues are similarly mapped.

There are some cracking battles going on in the Series standings and we'll be presenting all the awards and prizes very soon after each race, so stick around. To figure in the Series Points you must have scored in 3 rounds to qualify.

As usual entry on the day is available and all series standings, entry forms and directions to the venue are on the website.
