What a way to kick off the 2005 race season; mostly dry trails, a high turnout of riders and the anniversary of our 10th Spring Series. In honour of this a cash prize was donated by BumpyBikes.com (mtb event calendar) to the fastest single lap time in the Veteran Mens race. David Nelson (Beyond MTB) scorched round his first lap overtaking many Masters in the process to clock up a time of 22 minutes and 6 seconds going on to finish first.

The prize draw winner of an Exodus holiday was Jenn O'Conner (Team Specialized). She'll be off somewhere hot and sunny in the not to distant future, probably to work on her 24hr solo race training. Look out for more prize draws at selected rounds. You've only got to enter and race to be in with a chance.

A mention must also go to Mark Payne. He completed 10 laps in 5 hours 34 minutes in aid of the DEC Tsunami Appeal. If you didn't get a chance to sponsor him please e-mail us so we can put you in touch.

Gorrick has a busy season with races and navigation events all now listed on the Calendar. If you fancy something a little different to thrashing round a race course, next Sunday the 6th February is a TrailTrax navigator to be held not too far from the Devils Punchbowl. Followed just three weeks later by the second round of the Spring Series at Heath Warren Wood.
